Exiles Captain Lauren Ferridge selected for USA Rugby All-American Winter Camp.

Congratulations to Lauren Ferridge who was selected to attend US Rugby’s  All-American Winter Camps at the U.S. Olympic Training Site in Chula Vista Dec. 26-31.

Director of Girls High School All-Americans Martha Daines said: “Our goal for this camp was to cast as wide a net as possible, bringing in promising players from all around the country. This large group of athletes is incredibly diverse and will benefit by learning from each other in their intrasquad matches. For many players this will be the first national camp they’ve attended. I’m looking forward to seeing how they all respond to the challenge and how much returning players have improved and grown since we saw them last.”
The Girls High School All-Americans (U18) and rising Women’s Junior All-Americans (U19) will each end their camp with a collection of intrasquad matches on New Year’s Eve.

MD Selects win the NE RCT!

Hey everyone!
In case you hadn’t heard, Maryland won the Northeast RCT Tournament this past weekend in New Jersey. It was an incredible weekend of rugby and we played every game, bar one half, down 1-2 players. You should all be proud of Lauren, Lilli, Mikayla and Mady who represented the Exiles.
Link to an article about the weekend and our win.

Subject: Dartmouth Women’s Rugby – Recruiting

Hello Coach,

My name is Stacey Bridges, Assistant Coach of the women’s rugby team at Dartmouth College. As a NCAA Varsity program, we have been given a number of recruiting spots for promising high school players whose admission to Dartmouth we can support. I am on a mission to expand our recruiting outreach and cast a much wider net – in an effort to provide this opportunity to as many young, talented players as we can!

This is where you come in: Are there rising high school sophomores, juniors, or seniors on your team who have the drive and the character to excel at Dartmouth, who you would recommend for our recruiting spots in the coming years?  I would love to hear about them.  They do not need to be 4.0 students – please point any student with what you believe to be a B average or higher our way. If they are within range, excellent. Often, they are much closer than they may think and those are the students we are trying to reach earlier so that they know what to strive for and are inspired to make DI rugby and an Ivy League institution a reality. This is far more attainable than many players and coaches realize, and we want to see rugby open these doors for more and more athletes.

We would be grateful if you could help put us in contact with these promising students. You can simply reply with the names and details (grade, position, contact info) of any player that you think has what it takes to play NCAA Division 1 Collegiate Rugby. You can also have your players contact us directly or they can submit our Dartmouth Rugby Recruiting Questionnaire. I’ve attached a helpful guide for players interested in our program that contains some pointers for navigating the NCAA recruiting rules.

Additionally, I am planning a summer recruiting tour and would like to see your team in action. Are there any major HS girls tournaments this summer that your team will be participating in?

I look forward to hearing from you and working with you in the future. Please let me know if you have any additional questions regarding our program or the recruiting process.

Cheers,

Bridges
